Jitters, Visa's and Flights.

So, it is now only a matter of 20 days until I hang up my umbrella, don a Fez and leave for the land of Karpuz. My flights are booked, my visa obtained and my nerves mounting. I am flying on Sunday the 9th of September at 23.55, with a change in Istanbul and an internal flight to Ankara. The urge to try and scrounge some valium from somewhere is very tempting. I really do not appreciate being terrified of flying, the prospect of  2 take offs, and 2 landings is one that sends shiver to my bones. But, as that advert that used to be on TV for some healthy butter said; "try and do something that scares you every day"... not four times though. Interesting. I think the advert was for Benocol. (Rambling)

Visa-Gate turned out to be a bit of a laugh. After sitting in a room that was hotter than the core of the earth with various turkish babies being chucked about holding visa permits, I was seen too. Not a word was said. Papers given, a bit of typing, and then "Give this to the man on desk 3 and you pay." No messing around I suppose. So, I did as I was told and gave a very fat and very sweaty man all my documents, my passport and 250 pounds. No receipt - on your way please Madame. Luckily, I did receive my passport back through the post with a lovely shiny Visa Permit attached. I am an alien, a legal alien.

With 20 days to go I also think its prime time to start buying as many pots of marmite and packets of monster munch I can manage... Wish me luck, until next time. xoxoxox (gossip girl)
